In 2010 I heard that a friend was looking for a partner to attempt the Devizes to Westminster International Canoe race the following Easter. I had been a bit obsessed with the race for the past few years and despite only learning to kayak - and rather poorly - a few months earlier, I offered to make up the K2. Fast forward to April 26, 2011 when we successfully finished the 125 mile race straight through and a whole new world of endurance events opened up.

Since then I have moved to land-based activities:

  • London to Brighton 100km x2

  • Isle of Wight 110km

  • Marathon des Sables 250 km multi-stage race in the Sahara

  • Fire and Ice 220 km multi-stage race in Iceland

  • Annapurna Ultra 250 km multi-stage in Nepal

In 2020 I am taking on the Ice Ultra in Arctic Sweden and my own challenge, to cycle from John O’Groats to Dungeness, kayak across the English Channel, Cycle to Spain, Cycle the Camino de Santiago and from there down to Sagres in Portugal - in two months.
